Road Repair

The photo below was taken near the control tower at the Shady Grove train yard:

For some reason there was a large hole in the middle of the new concrete service road.  My coworker and I got tired of avoiding it with our cars, and we realized it would never get fixed unless we did it ourselves.  I went down to the storeroom and got a bag of cement mix (or something similar) and we mixed it up and poured it in the hole.  Then of course we had to protect our work:

The large orange cone is an inverted hopper for a tractor-mounted salt spreader.

The final result looked like this:

“STH” stands for “Straight to Hell” which was part of a Washington Post headline about Metro.
